Modem stands for MOdulator DEModulator. In simple languages, Modem is a device which help us to connect to the World Wide Web or Internet. A telephone at your home may also be used as modem, but obviously the speed you gonna get won’t be so good. But if you use your very own mobile phone as modem and access the internet, you will get good Internet speed.
In this article we will be concentrating on topic Mobile as Modem, in this your Mobile Phone is modem which you will connect to your PC to access Internet through your Computer. While your Mobile is used as a Modem you may not make or receive calls because your phone is already in use, but nowadays many mobile phones are capable of making outgoing calls and even receiving incoming calls while mobile is being used as modem.
The things required to use Nokia mobile phone as modem :
1. A multimedia Nokia Mobile phone with 2G, 3G or 4G Internet connectivity and mobile as modem support.
2. An USB data cable which will be used to connect your Nokia Mobile with your Computer
3. Nokia PC Suite Software or OVI Suite ,You can download PC Suite from Softpedia and Download OVI Suite(if PC suite isn’t supported by your mobile phone) from CNET

What to use: Nokia PC Suite or OVI Suite ?
Depending on your mobile, you can either use PC Suite or OVI Suite. To check whether your Mobile Supports Nokia PC Suite or OVI Suite, connect your mobile to PC through a data cable. Now, a menu will appear on your mobile screen which will be having an option Nokia PC Suite Mode or OVI Connect or similar to them.
If it says Nokia PC Suite then use PC Suite or If it says OVI Connect then use OVI Suite.
If it says Nokia PC Suite then use PC Suite or If it says OVI Connect then use OVI Suite.
Installation and Setup
Step 1: Download and Install Nokia PC Suite or OVI Suite from above provided links
Step 2: Connect your mobile to PC through a data cable and selectNokia PC Suite Mode or OVI Connect or similar to them in your Mobile phone, when asked.
Step 3: Wait for a while, make sure your phone gets detected and drivers get installed.
Step 4: Now Open PC Suite or OVI Suite
Step 5: Click on Connect to the internet Icon(Looks similar to a green coloured globe icon)
Step 6: Select your country and then select your mobile operator and click on Connect
Step 2: Connect your mobile to PC through a data cable and selectNokia PC Suite Mode or OVI Connect or similar to them in your Mobile phone, when asked.
Step 3: Wait for a while, make sure your phone gets detected and drivers get installed.
Step 4: Now Open PC Suite or OVI Suite
Step 5: Click on Connect to the internet Icon(Looks similar to a green coloured globe icon)
Step 6: Select your country and then select your mobile operator and click on Connect
That’s it, your computer is now connected with Internet and you can surf the world wide web
